I like the AlterG because it gives my patients a way of non-painful, controlled weight bearing early in the recovery period. Studies show that an earlier return to activity prevents atrophy of supporting muscles, decreases swelling, and improves outcomes. AlterG will become the sandard of care in rehabilitation.
SEE WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT ALTERG
Having an AlterG in our athletic training room has been instrumental in both rehabilitation and the overall conditioining of our players. Being able to get injured or post surgical players to begin non to low weight bearing moverment earlier in the rehab process has been critical to an earlier return to the court.
“We are extremely excited about being the nation’s first skilled nursing facility to offer this state of the art technology to patients with neurological/muscular lower extremity impairments"
I can see improved toe clearance since I started therapy with the Bionic Leg. In fact, since starting Bionic Leg therapy, if I’m not wearing shoes, I am able to clear my toe on my own, without wearing the AFO.
The experience was exceptional and drastically reduced the pain I would normally feel, especially from the parts of my body that sustained the most damage from the car accident. I will definitely be using the machine again.
"We have a patient who has Parkinson's disease. He struggled with his gait while walking and hoped he could be helped. After using this treadmill for a few weeks, he's had marked improvement with his walking. In fact, he hasn't had a fall since he started training with us.”
“The results with our orthopedic patients have been fantastic.”
"The AlterG has been a fantastic addition to our fitness facility. Clients that couldn't run before have used the AlterG to start running again. We've been able to charge extra for usage of the AlterG and it has generated additional revenue for us a result."
Instead of worrying about falling over, patients concentrate on walking and coordination. Not only does the AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill strengthen muscles, it builds the patient’s confidence.
"The use of AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmills by top athletes is interesting. But the most compelling thing about their products is the huge ramification for the elderly and the obese. My mother died in late 2010 from complications of pulmonary disease, and I saw the cascading effects that a life of inactivity can cause. So, it’s a completely unique company in serving not only world-class athletes, but also those who need a safe environment to regain or retain mobility.”
"The AlterG is the most significant advance in training equipment for runners in the last half century."
We have a patient who has Parkinson's disease. He struggled with his gait while walking and hoped he could be helped. After using this treadmill for a few weeks, he's had marked improvement with his walking. In fact, he hasn't had a fall since he started training with us. We've also had wheelchair patients who find they can use the treadmill in their rehabilitative efforts. This type of therapy seems to be particularly beneficial for patients who have neurological issues. It is similar to buoyancy in water; it allows patients to exercise without the pounding impact of their full weight on the ground. The goal is for these patients to work toward a more normal gait pattern.
"It was amazing. The first day I got on it, I did about two and a half, 2.5 miles an hour for 30 minutes. I have not walked in 10 years. The way I feel and the inches that are being lost is amazing.”
The AlterG has become an integral component of rehabilitation for patients in our clinic with weight bearing restrictions, chondral injuries, and training of elite athletes with overuse injuries
