Pediatric Cerebral Palsy Rehab on the AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill

Three Amazing Pediatric Physical Therapy Stories

See how AlterG is Changing Lives. Explore the Possibilities

Watch how the AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill helps three cerebral palsy patients at SKY Pediatric Therapy improve their gait, engage in aerobic activity, and improve their mobility.

Cole, 11, has cerebral palsy and since he has grown older, it has become increasingly more difficult for him to stand and walk. Because of his condition, Cole has been placed in a number of different assistive devices for mobility, but after surgical procedures to both his legs, he now uses the Anti-Gravity Treadmill for rehab and engaging in sustained aerobic activity.

Nine-year-old Zachary has diplegia cerebral palsy and used to sprain his ankles frequently because of weakness in his gait. By utilizing the unweighting ability and video screen of the Anti-Gravity Treadmill, Zachary was able to safely walk and run while studying his foot placement on the track. Now the Anti-Gravity Treadmill allows him to run like an athlete and build strength in his legs.

Ivan is eight years old and has suffered from cerebral palsy his entire life. After several casting treatments, Ivan used the Anti-Gravity Treadmill for rehab and to improve his gait mechanics. After extensive treatment on the Anti-Gravity Treadmill, Ivan was able to walk at level 15 incline.

"On the incline, I figured out that the incline can help you walk up mountains better,” said Ivan.
